About the Book

The book is proof God works in mysterious ways. There is no possibility a worthless, hurtful, self-centered drunk would be sober and writing a spiritual book of any type for anyone. So, be certain The Daily Reprieve exists by the grace of God, not by the grace of the author.

God’s purpose for The Daily Reprieve may be in this statement from the book, Alcoholics Anonymous: “What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.” The messages in The Daily Reprieve encourage and empower recovering people to maintain the spiritual condition essential to rebuilding their lives. Each message of the over 350 in The Daily Reprieve attempts to accomplish this by combining biblical verses with pertinent quotes from recovery literature and then adding a brief and relevant experience from the author’s life.

His 37 years of experiences in sobriety attest to the need for a solid spiritual foundation. He reports hundreds of  times that he has been delivered from an overpowering craving for a drink only by a solid, spiritual connection to his Higher Power.

The author believes The Daily Reprieve is a tool God uses to keep him sober, and is convinced it is the hand of God reaching out to other alcoholics. He is overwhelmed with the honor and responsibility of being used by Him to demonstrate His love for recovering people. Truly, God does work in mysterious ways.
